Hamilton: First-ever Formula 1 & Formula E Champion?

Lewis Hamilton could winning in Formula 1 to Formula E for Mercedes

Could Lewis Hamilton lead Mercedes to dual success – champions in Formula 1 & Formula E? Can Sebastian Vettel keep it clean or will Fernando Alonso get a one-off chance for a Formula 1 & Ferrari return? Ricciardo’s earnings, Sergio Perez’s choice of pizza topping and the relishing possibility of a Schumacher-Raikkonen pairing in 2021. Hear our longest episode of the season.

Sooner or later, someone’s going to attempt this record – to be a dual champion, Formula 1 and Formula E. Given Mercedes’ new entry into the all-electric series, who better than Lewis Hamilton to lead the team to double glory. Early days, but this would be a thrilling proposition in the world of Motorsport.

Also in this week’s episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, we wonder if Sebastian Vettel can keep it clean for the next 3 races and if not, could Fernando Alonso make a one-off comeback to Formula 1 and Ferrari? The increasing possibility of a 25 race Formula 1 calendar, Ferrari & Mattia Binotto’s refusal of a Leclerc-Verstappen pairing.

And there’s more – Daniel Ricciardo’s earnings at Renault, Sergio Perez’s choice of pizza toppings and the possibility of a Schumacher-Raikkonen partnership at Alfa Romeo in 2021. Romain Grosjean’s decision to piss-off Hamilton over his wife and alternate roles in Formula 1 for George Russell and Lando Norris. This is one of our longest episodes of the year, lots of fun and discussions, tune in!

(Season 2019, Episode 35)

Here’s what’s in store for you in this episode:

0:00-3:00: Can Sebastian Vettel deliver clean races? The senior Ferrari driver has different targets to drive to. Else, could Fernando Alonso get a one-off return to Formula 1 with Ferrari? (Read: With Which Team Will Alonso Make His F1 Return?)

3:00-6:00: Can electronic sensors be used to make the sport safer? They’re definitely being explored for policing track limits

6:00-9:00: Formula 1’s future could still see the DRS being used to solve the problem of overtaking. There’s a lot of classic circuits trying to re-join the Formula 1 bangwagon – a 25-race calendar looking possible? (Read: F1 Overselling Its 2021 Agenda?)

9:00-12:00: Mattia Binotto denies Max Verstappen a chance to be Charles Leclerc’s team-mate at Ferrari. Ferrari believe that Formula E could actually pose a threat to Formula 1. Strange that they’re staying from the all-electric series then!

12:00-15:00: The strange stories of Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes’ union. Also, could Lewis Hamilton become the first-ever Formula 1 and Formula E champion? Alternate roles for George Russell and Lando Norris, can you guess what they could be?

15:00-18:00: Daniel Ricciardo’s contract details are out in the open. We discuss the most obvious ones. Renault under peer-pressure to get their junior driver program to deliver world-class talent in Formula 1

18:00-21:00: Romain Grosjean, who just got awarded his 5th unexpected contract extension in Formula 1, realised that he’d rather piss off Lewis Hamilton than his wife!

21:00-24:00: Kimi Raikkonen’s love affair with his steering wheel continues. A Schumacher-Raikkonen pairing at Alfa Romeo in 2021? Or a Schumacher-Hulkenberg pairing could be?

24:00-27:00: Would you prefer to award medals rather than championship points? Lucien’s Moments in Time + a heartfelt goodbye to Nico Hulkenberg?
