Bahrain Or Bore-rain

We have been asked this before and yes, we try and add humour (as much as we can) to the complex world of Formula1. That’s what the Inside Line F1 Podcast is all about.

With back to back GPs in China and Bahrain, our latest Formula1 podcast does a quick look back at China and a look forward to Bahrain. After much talk (read criticism), Pirelli have reallocated their tyre compounds for Bahrain. We discuss the implications of this for the Formula1 fan.

Here’s what’s in store for you in the latest edition of the Inside Line F1 Podcast: (YouTube channel: http://youtu.be/m-YbsInLd4s)

  • Should Formula1 drivers ‘ask’ for permission to race?
  • Would you rate the 2013 Chinese Grand Prix as entertaining? And we give a BIG round of applause to all the drivers on the grid. You should listen to know why!
  • Rumour has it that Esteban Gutierrez’s Indian visa application for the 2013 Indian Grand Prix is put on hold…
  • Mark Webber’s lady luck! She keeps flirting with all others but him. Rishi does some math too!
  • Driver of the 2013 Chinese Grand Prix: Rishi and I have varied choices (again!)
  • Has Ricciardo upped his game to stake his claim to Webber’s seat in Red Bull Racing? Or will Kimi Raikkonen race for Red Bull Racing in 2014?
  • Sergio Perez, a mindset issue? Is Mclaren = Sauber?
  • Felipe Massa is searching for answers, we give him one…

  • Over to the 2013 Bahrain Grand Prix, Pirelli have changed their tyre allocations.
  • What impact will have it have on the ‘show’?
  • 4th winner in 4 races? Is it possible? Who can win in Bahrain? (also, who needs to!)
  • And Rishi asks, ‘which car is the fastest on the grid currently’?

Rishi asks for my predictions and I clearly choose to not make any till I see how the Pirellis hold up for everyone. But if you’ve got your predictions already in place, do share them with us below.

Also, a good word or two, feedback, criticism, RTs and FB ‘Likes’ are welcome too!

Thanks to Rishi, for the 2013 Formula1 Season my Formula1 blog will say ‘Keep Racing, But Preserve Your Tyres!’ Quiet apt, isn’t it?

Last week’s post ‘Winning Matters In Formula1, Not Participation’ was well appreciated. Come read.

  • Although, I’m a Vettel fan – I have been waiting for Alonso to score a win and I’m glad he did it – Hence, I’m sure the racing from now on is gonna be a roller coaster of a ride, definitely gonna pick up tantalizing speed. You know, sometimes all you need is one good win and then things would start falling into place. Mindset issue, indeed. 🙂
Alonso looked like he was keeping a low profile, but after Chinese GP, he is the man to lookout for.
Gutierrez’s Indian visa application – was a cracker! Good one.
Mark Webber – Ahem, whichever team he goes into, he would be expected to play second fiddle and he for one, doesn’t look like he could digest that any more or ever have. So yes, moving to lead Porsche would be good for him. Would give him some peace of mind.
Driver of Chinese GP – Watched on & off, hence no comments.
To me the fastest car and the driver combo would be – Mercedes and Hamilton!
No predictions so far, kinda blank!
On the first paragraph: You know, “Humor is a very serious thing”. Upon using it right, would reinstate the underlying point much clearer and much deeper, and one can never forget the implied point bundled with humor.
So yes, throw in some humor every now and then!

    • Yes, one can never leave out Alonso from the equation. Seemingly this year, since Ferrari have had a good start to the season, he should be in the fray for the World Championship and actually winning it. A non-Vettel winner could actually spur more interest for a change! 😉
Mercedes / Hamilton – good combo in qualifying, but too hard on tyres in the race. Hence they went backwards.
And thank you for the good words on the humour we dish out, hopefully we can do so for a long long time to come!

  • WEBBER’S CONDITION REMINDS ME OF COULTHARD’S IN MCLAREN.
HIS 2ND FIDDILITY TO HAK, AND THEN STRUGGLING FOR LEADERSHIP IN PRESENCE OF RAI. SEEMS SIMILARITY TO WEB’S CONDITION TO COU AND VET
