The 2012 Drivers’ Championship title was decided in a nerve wracking race in Brazil, the last race of the 2012 Formula1 season. The upside was that we had a really exciting race; the downside is that there will be no Formula1 action for nearly 4 months! Before we sulk about the lack of action, we have a new World Champion to celebrate! And if you are an Alonso fan, sulking is what it will be till the action resumes…

Here’s what we discussed in our latest Formula1 podcast: (Also the 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix Race Report)

  • Vettel a worthy champion? Rishi and I almost get into a cat fight! Hear both our views! Hear it!
  • Worthy champion or not, Vettel was a bundle of nerves in the opening lap of the race! Did the crash with Senna wake him up? I dig into a bit of psychology!

  • Raikkonen a brilliant entertainer, but there’s one driver we will sorely miss – Schumacher!
  • And the camera shot of a distraught Alonso post-race. My heart goes out to him…!
  • Interlagos, does it ever fail to entertain? We love it! Hulkenberg loves it even more?
  • Sadly, he and Sahara Force India weren’t able to win their first ever Formula1 race…why the drive-thru, why!
  • Raikkonen went up the wrong circuit! Now we would love to hear that radio conversation. Would he have still said ‘Leave me alone! I know what I am doing!’?
  • Caterham vs Marussia, they didn’t fail to entertain as well!
  • Hamilton crashed in his last race for Mclaren, but his comment about Hulkenberg was totally uncalled for. Did you hear it?

And we ask a few interesting questions towards the end of our podcast for our listeners to respond to. Hear the link and leave your comments, as Rishi says always ‘we love to hear from you!’

Also, Formula1 fans, worry not, we are lining up a special package to keep you entertained this off-season. And if there are any topics you’d like us to discuss, debate and fight over, do share it with us. As always, we are happy to talk Formula1! Over to you…!

At the end of the current, I am happy to share with you earlier posts that were well subscribed to:

    Apt title!!
But I should support Rishi here. Vettel deserved it, period.
Oh come on Kunal – Alonso is genuinely good but so was Vettel, Vettel had some of the worst nightmares in the season not just that think of of Abu Dhabi 2012, that was where we could see Vettel’s humongous courage, who else can do that:-)

    To me,
    1)Driver of the season – Alonso(Yes, I will give it up ,because i’m not biased :-) )
2)Best sponsor of the year – Red Bull
3)Tornado of the year – Hamilton
4)Legend of the season – Vettel
    This is the best,
    5)Scapegoat of EVERYyear – Massa 😉

Aha! I know a lot of our readers and listeners sided with Rishi’s choice here. I still stick to my statement, Vettel deserved the title, but Alonso deserved it only that little bit more! 😉

And that ‘scapegoat of every year’ is so very true. Poor ol’ Massa!

    Thanks Kunal,,

But long wait for Melbourne 2013,, ROC may quench the thirst a lil bit,, but when is it scheduled?? Xcited 2 C Narain n Karun,, to line up.

Another concern , etching me up since long , thats the return of A1 GP,, heard some smoke about its comeback,, but no flames now,,
Seriously our appetite cant be satisfied by just winter testing, & FIA GALA,,

    Missing A1, a fabulous concept.

    Also a question ,
with FIA GT1 coming up in BIC,,
are Indian drivers lined up for the event??

DO YOU FEEL, THAT SOMEWHERE THE HISTORY IS GETTING REPEATED ,AT THE END OF THIS SEASON
2001: when Kimi @ SAUBER, WAS IDENTIFIED A POTENTIAL CANDIDATE TO REPLACE THE RETIRING WORLD CHAMPION- HAKKINEN
2002: KIMI makes McLAREN DEBUT ALONG SIDE COULTHARD
    AND COME
2007: HE IS FINALLY AT FERRARI TO GRAB THE TITLE

    SIMILARLY
2012: PEREZ@ SAUBER, POTENTIAL TO REPLACE MASSA
2013: HIRED BY MCLAREN TO FILL THE SEAT VACATED BY HAMILTON WITH A MULTI YEAR DEAL
    AND SO ANY PREDICTIONS

    FOR
    2017: WORLD CHAMPION ????

Thanks for the comment Latesh. Interesting observation I must say.

Kimi is hilarious and I do hope that continues to entertain us both on and off track!

As for Perez, he has a long way to go and surely does have the talent. He needs to work on his temperament though! Let’s hope for the best!

    HI , KUNAL N RISHI,,
DIN’T RAIKKONEN PIT CREW CAME UP ON THE RADIO AND INFORM HIM ABOUT THE RIGHT TRACK,, OR IT MIGHT HAVE GOT SKIPPED UP BY BROADCASTERS IN THIS INTERESTING CIRCUS…
WHATEVER, KIMI STILL HAS AN ANSWER FOR THAT,,
“I KNOW WHERE I’M GOING, LEAVE ME ALONE”

BUT SEROIUSLY IN THOSE TRECHEROUS WET CONDITIONS, KUDOS TO KIMI, THAT HE PREVENTED HIS CAR AGAINST DAMAGE, & MADE A SMOOTH TRANSITION TO THE TRACK(THOUGH OF ADIFFERENT ERA), AND AFTER RETURNING FROM 1970’s TO 2012 HE STILL GRABBED A SOLE POINT , MORE IMPORTANTLY MAINTAIN THE RECORD OF CONSISTENT FINISHES,,

    RESPECT HIS NERVES
