Why Should F1 Fans Watch Le Mans?

Mithila Mehta and I have partnered with Firstpost for the 2017 Formula 1 Season and will feature in their Firstpost Pole Position videos all through the season. Basically, we’re now available in text, audio and video!
The world of Motorsport has Fernando Alonso to thank. The former double World Champion (and Formula 1’s unluckiest champion!) has brought the ‘Triple Crown of Motorsport’ back into the spotlight and how. After the 2017 Canadian Grand Prix, my blog and the podcast channel were filled with questions regarding the iconic and legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Given the interest, we quickly connected with Karun Chandhok and Nico Hulkenberg to see if they’d be interested in sharing their views and memories of Le Mans. And of course, while we were discussing Le Mans with them, we sneaked in some interesting Formula 1 questions too! (Nico Hulkenberg’s Le Mans Interview, Karun Chandhok’s Le Mans Interview)
I must also thank Firstpost (and Firstpost Sports) for showing interest in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. I believe that outside of the traditional motorsport / automobile media houses, there are barely a handful of mainstream media houses interested in covering the sport this comprehensively. So if you’re a Formula 1 fan wondering what on earth the Le Mans is all about and if you should watch it at all, I hope I’ve offered a few reasons:

And for the regular listeners of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, here’s Karun Chandhok explaining Le Mans in his inimitable style.
