F1 2021 Teams: Expectations In One Word

F1 2021 Teams: Expectations in one word
For the 2021 Formula 1 season, describe your expectations for every team in one word. That’s the challenge we took upon ourselves for our first live stream of the season.

FIA-accredited Formula 1 journalist Abhishek Takle joined Soumil and Kunal for this episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast. ‘Champions’, ‘dominant’, ‘challenge’ and even ‘Netflix’ were some of the words the trio used while looking forward to the upcoming season and discussing their predictions.

Understandably, the odds would be in favour of Mercedes-Lewis Hamilton winning their 8th Formula 1 title together. Given Hamilton’s one year extension, the jury is out on whether the Briton will renew to race in the new era of Formula 1 or hang up after his 8th title – should he get there. The odds would also be in favour of George Russell not racing for Williams for a fourth consecutive year starting 2022. Will Ferrari resurrect form? And what about Sebastian Vettel & Aston Martin? Given the shakeup in cockpits for the coming season, one hopes that unpredictability will only add to the excitement Formula 1 delivers season after season.

Also on the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Mithila joined Kunal in predicting outcomes & story lines for Formula 1‘s new decade – 2021-30. This was around Formula 1’s sporting, commercial and political developments that could follow in this decade. And of course, the easiest to bet was the retirement of four Formula 1 World Champions – Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel. In all, there’s a lot to look forward to this season, this decade and in this episode.
